However, our studio philosophy is all about simplicity and natural care—there is no need to spend $50 on a specialized silk detergent. The Shampoo Wash: Fill a clean basin with cold water and mix in a small squeeze of gentle shampoo. Because shampoo is formulated for delicate hair protein, it is biologically perfect for protecting the organic protein structure of mulberry silk. Always turn the dress inside out first.

The "No-Rub" Technique: Submerge the dress and gently pat it in the water. Never rub or scrub, which breaks the delicate silk fibers and can dull the finish of the sequins.
